It started with a post

We own a property in Murcia, Spain that we advertise with Owners Direct.  We also run a Facebook Page for the Villa that we use to interact with the Owners Direct Facebook page when appropriate.  A few weeks ago we commented on a discussion on the Owners Direct Facebook page little knowing that it would lead to exposure in a National newspaper. The post asked :

SATURDAY DEBATE: If you're a couple, which one of you is responsible for finding and organising a holiday? From booking the accommodation to arranging insurance, from shopping for holiday essentials to packing - who takes the lion share?

In response to this we posted that most of our enquiries come from women. As Phil has usually booked our holidays it was something we had noticed and commented on.  The PR team for Owners Direct picked up on this comment and included it in a Press Release that they sent out.

The press release was picked up by a large number of newspapers and websites such as The Daily Telegraph and Travel News Daily. It was subsequently picked up by the Daily Mail and travel sites i want sun, flights and fly and Direct Travel It was also featured by Christian Today.  This was fantastic PR coverage for Owners Direct and also for Gillian as the Daily Telegraph kept her quote in the article.

It all goes to show that you never know where Social Media will take you and it all started with a post.
